The Rise will only work if you are able to throw at least 55 mph. So it is not worth even trying until you are at that level. This pitch will require a lot of time to perfect. Some books will describe the Rise as taking up to three years to truly be able to throw properly. I don't know if it's quite that long, but I'm sure to some of my pitchers, sometimes it feels like three years.
To Throw a Rise you will start the same as a Fastball following up ward until you reach the top of your circle, at the top flip the hand over tell your thumb is on top (facing the catcher) continue down with your arm.
While coming down with your arm lower your throwing arm shoulder so that you are dipping it lower the your glove hand shoulder.
Put your weight back onto your drag foot.
Once your hand is next to your hip, twist your wrist about 90 degrees while snapping your wrist forward, at this same moment follow through and stand up tall with your body.
Then finish by touching your palm to your shoulder.
This pitch can be both confusing and difficult to understand and throw, Good luck!
